London, Mar 3: Chelsea's Diego Costa left Wembley after the Capital One Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur with some precious souvenirs. The Spaniard returned with a League Cup winners medal, an assist and a £2 coin hurled at him from a Tottenham fan.
A Tottenham fan was left a little red-faced after throwing a £2 coin at Chelsea's Diego Costa during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspurs in Capital One Cup final.
The striker reacted to the event in a classy manner, he calmly picked up the coin from the pitch and placed it in his shorts which he said would be of use for some post-match expenses.
Blues captain John Terry gave his side a first-half lead when Willian's free-kick dropped loose inside the box via a deflection. Tottenham had already hit the crossbar through Christian Eriksen, but Chelsea doubled their lead when Diego Costa's shot was turned in by the leg of Tottenham's Kyle Walker.
The 26-year old made his contribution to Chelsea's win when he struck a shot which led to the second goal. The Spaniard fired a shot past Kyle Walker into the back of the net, but was given as an own goal to Kyle Walker. Diego ended up having the last laugh anyway, with his second half goal helping seal a 2-0 Chelsea win and the trophy.
Chelsea have now won five League Cups (1964-65, 1997-98, 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2014-15), matching Aston Villa for second-most League Cups behind Liverpool's eight. Chelsea also gained revenge for the 2008 Capital One Cup where Tottenham Hotspurs defeated Chelsea 2-1.
