Barcelona Open: What did Rafael Nadal say about Alexander Zverev?

Spanish superstar has commented on Germany's Alexander Zverev as they won't face at Barcelona Open.

Barcelona, April 28: Spanis superstar Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev are not going to meet each other once again in Barcelona this time out as the German was upset by South Korean youngster Hyeon Chung on Thursday (April 27). The game ended 6-1, 6-4 in the 20-year-old Korean's favour.

Chung, who has stunned many in the past, with his big upset yesterday, will face the iconic Nadal in the quarter-final today (April 28) at Barcelona Open.

German star Zverev won't face Nadal on Friday one week after the 6-1, 6-1 loss in Monte Carlo and will be disappointed for that.

When Nadal was in the press conference after his win against Kevin Anderson 6-3 6-4, the match between the two Next Gen players was still ongoing and he commented on both of his possible opponents.

His comment on Zverev was really interesting. Zverev had stated earlier this week that he went to play in Barcelona to hopefully face Nadal again.

"Zverev can be at the highest level and aim to do the most important things of the sport," said Nadal.

"Then you have to show it on court and be humble to work. I know he likes tennis, but I don't know him enough to know his humility. If you have it, it's easier. Otherwise I think he will make it because he has the qualities.

"There are many ways to be at the top. If you have feet on the ground you are happier and the street is less complicated. It's strange that he says that he comes to an event to play against someone. I play certain events because I think it's better for my calendar or to improve', said Nadal.

About Chung, he said, "I know him less, if he will win I see some videos of him tonight in order to have a clearer idea of how he plays. I am playing at a very High level, tomorrow the weather will be good, the court will be faster than last two days and it's a good news for players and their body because an heavy court is dangerous for the arm, elbow and wrist."

The Spaniard also commented on his win over Anderson. He said, "It was a good match because when it rains you never know if you play. Forecast was bad, so I am happy with the way I played. Conditions were not so good and the opponent was very difficult."

Nadal fans will be hoping that their favourite player goes all the way to win the Barcelona Open as he is not having the best of seasons.
