The Madrid giants were keen on signing the player whom they had sold 2 seasons back for £32 million to Chelsea.
Diego Simeone admires the Spanish striker and is desperate to bring in the forward to bolster his squad and for that he is ready to spend any amount.
But if reports are to believed then Chelsea FC under no circumstances would let go their star striker. Antonio Conte who recently joined the club as the manager is keen on signing more and more forwards considering they have two strikers in the squad, Costa and Michy Batshuayi.
Under these condition it is highly unlikely that the Blues would release Diego Costa this summer for any sum of money.
Earlier it was reported by the European media that the relations between the two clubs are said to worsen after Atletico persisted on their bidding for the forward.
Apparently the Premier League side have threatened to file a complaint with FIFA regarding Atletico's pursuit of the striker.
Costa had a brilliant season, the last time he played in Spain for Atletico. The club won the La Liga title and reached the UEFA Champions League final as he became the top goal scorer in Spain.
In 2014, he joined Chelsea and in his debut season he won the league title with the Blues under Jose Mourinho and was also the club's highest goal scorer.
It will be interesting to see if the hot headed Spanish international would actually go back to Atletico Madrid this summer or stay back at Stamford Bridge.
