Rio de Janeiro, July 14: Mario Goetze was the hero as Germany won their fourth World Cup title, beating Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final yesterday (July 13) here.

Goetze's 113th minute goal gave Germany the trophy after 24 years of wait.

As it happened in the 2010 final, the winners were decided in extra time after a goalless contest in 90 minutes. Back then, Andres Iniesta's 116th minute goal crowned Spain as the champions against Netherlands.
