Now, sudden release of water leaves 10 students trapped in J'khand dam
Reports said rescue operation was underway and the Army was called in.
The stranded people climed atop a concrete platform built by the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station to check the strong water currents, reports said.

The authorities were accused of not raising any alarm before releasing the water, similar to the tragedy in Himachal where also the officials were accused of not warning before releasing the water and as a result, 24 students from Hyderabad along with a tour operator were washed away. [Read here]
The students from the VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology were on an excursion trip to Manali. The tragedy occurred when some students went to the river bed for taking pictures and the sudden release of water swept them away.
