Pune, Dec 23: 46-year-old Praineeta, former wife of cricketer-turned-actor Salil Ankola, committed suicide in Pune. Police found a suicide note from her residence in Geeta Society, Salisbury Park on Sunday, Dec 22.

According to police sources, Parineeta was found hanging from ceiling fan of her room around 8 pm on Sunday. In her suicide note, she reportedly wrote that she was tired of her life, hence, she decided to end her life.

The Swargate police have begun investigating the case. The dead body has been sent to Sassoon hospital for postmortem, informed police official.

Parineeta and Ankola separated after their divorce in 2011. Parineeta, the mother of two, had been staying with her parents in Pune since 2011.

Senior police inspector Ram Pathare was quoted as saying, "Prima facie it appears she was disturbed due to some problems. She was staying with her parents, but we suspect she committed suicide when she was alone at home. When the family members returned around 8 pm, they found her body hanging. Further investigation is on."

"The note mentions that nobody should be held responsible for the suicide. She said her parents had loved her a lot and she wanted to commit suicide as she was fed up of life," another official said.

Just this year, Ankola had remarried after his split from Parineeta. He had been in rehab twice for alcoholism and depression before his second marriage.
