"As Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are guiding Congress, which their ancestors had created we too will provide strength to the RJD to keep it strong," former Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi said.
Post Lalu Prasad Yadav's conviction in the Fodder scam case on Monday, the future of RJD looks dicey. Though Rabri has shouldered responsibilities previously also, this time she is confident, that along with her son she will be able to lead the party.
Rabri Devi RJD's choice to lead the party
Lalu Prasad Yadav faces a jail term between four to seven years which will be announced on October 3. Since he is convicted he will be disqualified from the Lok Sabha and more importantly will not be able to contest next year's national election or the one after that.
RJD leaders on Monday evening had already indicated that Rabri would be their choice of leadership. Rabri's son Tejasvi too is politically inclined. He was seen accompanying Lalu Prasad Yadav to the CBI court on the day of the judgement.
