An Intelligence Bureau (IB) official was quoted as saying, "Tahseen Akhtar alias Monu, accused of several terrorist attacks, is man behind serial blasts in Patna."
"Initial investigation suggested the involvement of IM in serial blasts in Patna. The modus operandi and low-intensity bomb blasts are part of IM operation," he added.
The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe into the eight blasts that went off between 9.30am and 12.25pm that has left six dead and around 100 injured.

Tens of thousands of people had gathered at Gandhi Maidan to hear BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who proceeded with his address as schedule even as plumes of smoke billowed from a couple of explosion sites.
Bihar Police discovered Jihadi literature, pressure cooker bombs, detonators from Imtiaz Ansari's Ranchi residence. Ansari, who has been arrested over his alleged link with IM and Bhatkal, reportedly exposed the mastermind.
Tehaseen hails from a village in Samastipur, about 100 km from Patna. In the last few months, the NIA on more than 10 occasions raided his native village but failed to find him.
Earlier, the NIA issued an arrest warrant against Tahseen Akhtar, and also announced a reward of Rs.10 lakh for information that could lead to his arrest.
