Patna, August 1: Humid conditions today prevailed in Bihar, especially Patna, with MeT department forecasting the possibility of rain or thunder in major cities of the state tomorrow.
Light rainfall was witnessed at a few places in north west, north central and south central Bihar in the past 24 hours, Met department said.
The near absence of rainfall in Patna, which recorded 0.3 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, made life difficult for the city's residents due to high level of humidity, the department said.
Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea witnessed zero rainfall in the same period, it said.
Absence of rainfall not only increased the humidity level, but also increased the maximum temperature by a few notches, it said.
Patna recorded the highest temperature among the four cities at 35.4 degrees celsius while Gaya recorded 35.3 mm rain.
Purnea recorded minimum and maximum temperatures of 31.0 and 36.0 degrees Celsius, while Bhagalpur registered the highest maximum temperature at 37 degrees Celsius, Met office said.
Though the Met department has in its forecast said Patna and Purnea are expected to witness a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder while Gaya and Bhagalpur are expected to witness generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder tomorrow.
The highest percentage of humidity in the morning was recorded in the range of 67 to 85 while the highest percentage of humidity in the evening was recorded between 73 to 78.
