Don't ask me questions that will make me commit suicide, Bihar's 'dubious' topper tells re-examiners
Patna, June 3: While one of the toppers of the Bihar board examination whose "Political Science teaches us cooking" remark left everybody stunned didn't appear for the re-examination, the other topper though appeared but he left the examiners stunned by remarking: "Don't ask me anything which will force me commit suicide." [Nitish Kumar's populism has hurt Bihar's education]
The remark by Saurav Shrestha, who is the Science topper, surprised the 15-odd examiners who were present to assess the examinees after the toppers' shocking academic aptitude rocked the state and raised serious questions over its education standards. The worried examiners sent Shrestha back after he said he was under mental pressure.
The experts, however, said after the re-assessment that most of the students did well. Top sources in the state's higher education board said the students gave wrong answer since they were feeling nervous while facing the camera.
They also said that Arts topper Ruby Rai did not appear for the re-examination because of health reasons. Ruby had said that Political Science (she called it Prodical Science) teaches us how to cook.
