Woman and child killed by knife, blade during argument in Delhi

Delhi: Arguments led to death of 2
New Delhi, Oct 18: Who knew what looked like a small argument would end up costing lives!

What started as a small argument between two women in Moti Nagar, west Delhi, turned bloody when they allegedly attacked each other with knives and blades on Thursday afternoon.

One woman and a child died of their injuries while the survivor and her daughter are critically injured. The survivors are admitted at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

TOI reported that the police have not been able to establish the cause of their dispute, and are probing all angles, including the possibility of an illicit relationship. They are questioning the women's husbands and the injured duo, and sources said personal enmity seems to be at the root of the fight. It is also not known who attacked whom first. There are two possibilities, investigators said: either Sudesh stabbed her own children and Reena before injuring herself, or Reena stabbed Sudesh and the children.

Police have found a note written in blood which declares that Reena's husband was responsible for the deaths. They have recovered a pair of scissors, surgical knives and a blade from the scene of crime. "Five years ago, Sudesh's husband, Anil Sharma, bought the house where the fight took place from Reena's husband, Manoj Taneja, a builder," said a senior police officer. Sudesh's husband, Anil Sharma, is a corporate communications manager at a media house.

"A case of murder and attempt to murder has been registered and we are probing further to ascertain what led to such bitterness between the two families," said Ranvir Singh, DCP west.

An investigator said Sudesh may have stabbed Reena with a kitchen knife, after which Reena tried to attack her with another knife. Sudesh's son, Arabh, and daughter, Komal, may have been wounded during this fight.
