Announcement on Narendra Modi as PM candidate on Sept 13?

New Delhi, Sept 11: An emissary of BJP president Rajnath Singh is likely to meet senior party leader LK Advani on Wednesday to finalise the date of holding the parliamentary board meeting. Sources said that Singh is eager to fix a date before September 19 when all members of the top decision-making body come together and back the decision to name Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Modi is also the chief of the party's poll campaigning committee.

According to sources, Modi could be declared the prime ministerial candidate on either the 13th or 16th, with the former date looking more likely.

Rajnath Singh's emiossary is likely to meet Advani today to talk over the dates

The pro-Modi camp in the BJP felt encouraged to proceed after getting the RSS's nod although those against the move, like Advani and Sushma Swaraj, are yet to be taken into confidence. The RSS, however, has reportedly asked Rajnath Singh that it is high time to make the announcement.

The beginning of the Pitripaksh, considered to be inauspicious, on September 19 has also made all quarters to quicken the process of Modi's anointment.

Advani, Swaraj and some other party leaders want the decision to come after the assembly elections due later this year get over. But the pro-Modi camp is not ready to wait that long.
