Vijay Goel upset with BJPs's decision
New Delhi, Oct 17: After reports emerged earlier this week that Dr Harshvardhan maybe projected as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate, a rift is clearly evident in the party.

Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel, according to reports, has spoken to the senior leaders of the party after the news broke out and has shown his displeasure at the party's decision to name Harshvardhan as the CM candidate.

He even refused to work for the party if BJP went ahead with its decision. He is said to have highlighted his role in galvanizing the party since he was made the Delhi President this year.

Goel, on Wednesday had called for a press conference, during which his displeasure with the party's decision was evident. He said: "The opinion polls projected me against Sheila Dikshit. Look at the results of the opinion polls. My party is ahead and so am I."

Goel: Look at the opinion polls. My party is ahead and so am I

According to an opinion poll done by AC Nielsen for ABP news, BJP is likely to win the race in the upcoming assembly elections. Goel had even sent these poll results to Nitin Gadkari so that the party can re-consider their decision.

However, a section of the party feels that Goel may do extreme damage to the party's image as a consequence of the announcement.

Many, on the other hand, feel that Harshvardhan is a better choice as the CM candidate as he has a clean image and is a successful individual. Those who support Goel feel that he is a better choice as he is far more resourceful and has a better command over the party business in the capital.
