New Delhi, April 8: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal was slapped by an auto-rickshaw driver Lali at a poll roadshow in Sultanpuri area of North West Delhi constituency on Thursday. It was said that the attacker was a former supporter of the AAP and was unhappy with the AAP for allegedly not delivering on the promises he had made ahead of the Delhi elections and quitting power after 49 days.

It was the second time that Kejriwal was slapped at a roadshow in Dakshinpuri area of New Delhi where he was campaigning for one of his party candidates. Last week, he was slapped and punched in the neck by a person named Abdul Wahid for allegedly ignoring the victims of Muzaffarnagar riots in Uttar Pradesh. Kejriwal appealed to his party supporters to maintain calm after the attack and asked them not to retaliate.
On Tuesday, Kejriwal asked in a tweet who were the masterminds behind such repeated attacks on him. Condemning the violence, he invited those who are targetting him to beat him as much as they want.
Kejriwal was later seen offering silent prayer at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat along with other AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia. His left cheek was visibly swollen as a result of the attack.
