Veteran journalist Vinod Mehta passes away at 73
New Delhi, March 8: Veteran journalist Vinod Mehta passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Sunday morning. He was 73.
Mehta died of multi-organ failure. AIIMS spokesperson Amit Gupta confirmed the news of his death.
Mehta, the founder-editor of Outlook magazine, was born in Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan) on February 1, 1942, and was the editor-in-chief of Outlook magazine till 2012.
Before his stint with Outlook, Mehta had launched The Pioneer newspaper in Delhi almost three decades ago. Mehta was known for his style of bold journalism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Mehta's death on social networking site Twitter.
