Ministers evicted from residences after Venkaiah Naidu's notice
New Delhi, June 6: Over 400 ministers were forced out of their Lutyens residences today in the Capital after Union Minister for Urban development Venkaiah Naidu issued orders to them.
According to a report by ABP News, Naidu had issued notices to over 400 ministers to vacate their residences out of which only 44 complied with the orders, while the rest refused to budge.
Naidu then issued eviction notices to the rest.
But 37 ministers refused to vacate following which some of them were locked outside their homes. These include the sons of former Prime Ministers Chandra Shekhar and Charan Singh.
Neeraj Shekhar and Ajit Singh had to be locked out of their houses, their belongings emptied out on the lawns.
Many UPA ministers were unhappy with the move and even criticized and said that Naidu himself had stayed in his for 10 years.
