According to the Economic Times report, Sinha admitted that there were political expectations but asserted that the premier investigation agency went by norms and found that there was no evidence against Shah.

The Congress lashed out at Sinha over his sensational claims

Sinha said there were some doubts about Shah's role but not enough to make up an evidence. He said clearing Shah meant that the probe was fair and thorough. He said that the CBI is accountable to the country, not the home ministry.

The Congress lashed out at Sinha over his remarks.

Sinha's remarks could stir up another political controversy by giving the BJP an arm to hit back at the BJP.
