Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh lauds BSF, says security is key to development

Rajnath lauds Border Security Force
New Delhi, Sep 22: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday, strengthened his stand on border issues and said said that security is the first and foremost requirement for development.

This was during a visit at the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters, when the minister also said, "Our borders should always be safe and secure," he added.

Singh said the government will leave no stone unturned to safeguard the country's borders and address all important issues related to border security.

He praised the BSF that has always played a vital role in safeguarding borders and its performance which has been outstanding and excellent.

Singh was accompanied by senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and was received by BSF DG D K Pathak and accorded a Guard of Honour.

Singh also lauded the contribution of the BSF in border, internal security, anti-Naxal operations and rescue operational duties. He said the Ministry of Home Affairs is already in the process of sorting out all the issues of functional requirement of the force.
