Meanwhile, TRS leader K T Rama Rao slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Speaker N Manohar over moving a notice seeking rejection of the state reorganisation bill of 2013 and its adoption in the assembly. Rao alleged that the Speaker was pressurised by the chief minister.

Sources in the TRS also said that if the Seemandhra leaders tried to obstruct statehood to Telangana by citing the resolution, it would move the courts.

The Congress high command seeks a merger of the TRS but Rao is aiming to take power in the new state first. He is also certain to give most of the parliament seats to the Congress.
