He said that at the beginning of the yatra there were some reports of stone pelting on the yatra vehicles. He said that the state was taking adequate precautions to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
Rijiju said that the Jammu and Kashmir government too has been alerted and has been asked to take preventive measures.
The Jammu and Kashmir government had earlier declared the entire Amarnath yatra route in the state as "highly prone" to terror strikes and directed security agencies to take necessary steps to ensure safety of pilgrims.
Aerial surveillance and spotters have been deployed to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
