SC notice over Kejriwal protest
New Delhi, Jan 24: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice on a PIL seeking action against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for violation of law.

An apex court bench headed by Justice RM Lodha issued notice to the centre to the home secretary and also to the Delhi government after petitioner ML Sharma contended that a law maker cannot be a law breaker at the same time.

The PIL was filed after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal staged a dharna on Jan 20 near Rail Bhavan. Kejriwal and his supporters are said to have flouted Section 144 (Unlawful Assembly) that prohibits the assembly of people in a particular area.

Republic Day parade rehersals, that were going on near Rail Bhavan were hit after Kejriwal sat on a dharna there.

Kejriwal had staged a 36-hour sit-in earlier this week in the heart of the capital to seek action against the Delhi Police for not heeding the orders of his ministers. The stir ended after two police officers were sent on leave.
