Silence rings from MNS: Raj Thackrey not contesting polls this time?

Raj Thackrey not prepared for LS polls?
Mumbai, March 6: While most of the parties have already given out their lists of candidates contesting for the Lok Sabha polls, only silence is heard from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Complete silence on campaigns and candidate list has triggered speculations that Raj Thackrey is not ready to fight elections this year.

On top of that, there is uneasiness in MNS after BJP leader Nitin Gadkari met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray in a 'secret' meeting at a Mumbai hotel to discuss poll equations.

On Monday, Gadkari had requested Thackeray not to field candidates against the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance so as not to divide the anti Congress-NCP votes. Thackeray, however, has maintained a studied silence on the issue, and his party workers aren't sure whether to hit the campaign trail or not, reported ET.

MNS members have said that Thackeray has still not made up his mind on whether to contest the elections or not. This is mainly because of two reasons. One of them being, he had been approached by the BJP almost six months back asking him not to field candidates for the forthcoming polls. He was then offered a deal where he was promised a seat adjustment.

The deal has nearly fallen through because Thackrey wanted the seat-sharing to be discussed before the polls while BJP has insisted that it will be decided after the election results are out.

According to sources, this was the reason why Thackeray, 'frustrated' over being let down by the BJP, began targeting Narendra Modi.

Well, will Thackeray pull up his sock and get ready for the coming battle or take a retreat, we shall find out soon!
