Senior Congress leaders join campaigning for MCD by-polls
New Delhi, May 11: In a bid to regain the lost ground in Delhi, senior Congress leaders today started campaigning for the May 15 municipal corporation by-polls.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and MP Raj Babbar campaigned for by-elections in 13 wards and addressed public meetings.
Leading the party campaign, Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken accused BJP and AAP of "stalling" development in Delhi.
Addressing a rally in Chattarpur, Maken alleged AAP and BJP made "hollow promises" to the people but did not deliver on them.
"The AAP government and BJP-ruled MCDs indulged in blame game instead of fulfilling the promises made to the people, and addressing the issues faced by locals in the wards," he said.
