Ramdas Athawale denied from boarding flight, RPI members protest
New Delhi, May 27: Members of the Republican Party of India (RPI) on Tuesday protested against Jet Airways after their leader Ramdas Athawale was not allowed to board the flight.
According to reports, Athawale was supposed to travel to Aurangabad from Mumbai on a 5.15 am flight. But he was later denied to board the flight as he arrived late and reached the boarding gate only by 4.55 am.
According to protocol followed by authorities, passengers are supposed to reach the boarding gate atleast 45 minutes in advance.
In this case, the Jet Airways staff had informed the minister's team in advance about the departure time of the flight.
"The flight was scheduled to take off at 5.15 am and I reached at airport 27 minutes before departure and got the boarding pass also. But I was shocked to hear from the ground staff that I cannot get entry into the plane as I was late by 4-5 minutes," Athawale told a news agency.
"I will file a complaint with Aviation Minister and also raise this issue in Rajya Sabha," Athawale said.
