Revealed: Why Kejriwal, Delhi's new CM, refuses to accept VIP security
Hours after his official announcement regarding forming government with Congress support, Kejriwal on Monday, Dec 23 sent a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner. In his letter, Kejriwal claimed that he wants to end VIP culture in the country.
I don't need security. I don't need any escort...God is my biggest security
Hence, the 46-year-old leader, a former Income Tax official, wrote, "I don't need any security. I don't need any escort...God is my biggest security."
According to sources, Kejriwal also informed that AAP ministers will not accept large government bungalows or cars that flash the lal batti or red beacon to grab right of way, often creating large traffic jams.
The AAP, which has 28 legislators in the 70-member assembly, will take outside support from the Congress' eight MLAs. No party reached the majority mark in the polls held on December 4, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party (32).
