Ram Kripal Yadav in Modi's Cabinet
New Delhi, Nov 10: Former RJD chief Lalu Prasad loyalist, Ram Kripal Yadav was on Sunday named as the Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Ram Kripal Yadav had earlier this year quit the RJD after Lalu Prasad had chosen his daughter Misa over Ram Kripal to contest the LS polls from Patliputra seat. Ram Kripal Yadav was keen on contesting the LS polls from the Patliputra seat but was shocked when Lalu chose Misa.

It was then that he decided to quit the RJD and join the BJP.

57-year-old Ram Kripal Yadav has been elected the member of Lok Sabha four times, once to Rajya Sabha and twice to Bihar Legislative Council.

In 2009 Ram Kripal vacated his Lok Sabha seat for Lalu Prasad who then contested the polls but was defeated by JD(U) leader Ranjan Prasad Yadav.

RJD leaders recall Ram Kripal Yadav being by Lalu Prasad's side in the latter's bad times.

Ram Kripal Yadav comes from an agricultural background and has a LLB degree from Magadh University, Bihar.
