On Sunday, June 19, several political leaders including prime minister Narendra Modi, Lalu Prasad, Vasundhara Raje and others wished the Congress vice president for his birthday.
Last year Rahul Gandhi had taken similar holiday for a few weeks, which was criticised by several political leaders who said that it was necessary for him to be with his party following it's electoral losses.
However this time the cautious Gandhi tweeted before leaving the country.
Gandhi was seen in Punjab recently campaigning for his party in the upcoming Assembly elections. He was also seen holding several meetings on UP before flying out of the country.
