Rahul Gandhi: Politicians must be kept out of sports administration

New Delhi, Feb 21: Interacting with the youth at the launch of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan and National Youth Policy 2014 here, Rahul Gandhi said that 'politicians should be kept out of sports administration.'

Rahul interacted with the youth at the event and also spoke to many sportspersons like boxers Vijender Singh and Mary Kom.
He said: "More and more power should go to sportspersons while deciding issues related to sports."

Rahul was all ears to the problems of the sportspersons, who pointed out the lack of facilities in sports. Rahul also urged and said that 'we must take sporting facilities to every corner of India.'

Rahul said that sports is not about winning medals. "Its also about promote health and fitness." Urging the youth to indulge in other sports Rahul said: "Indians love cricket more than any other sports. I personally love football. I agree we should focus on other sports as well."
