Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat on October 3 for two-day visit
This will be followed by a meeting of the national executive of the National Students Union of India, the Congress' student's wing, and elected members of local self-government institutes.
The following day, Gandhi will travel to Rajkot, the former assembly constituency of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate, it said. He is scheduled to address a meeting of office-bearers of local party units, meet local self government members and attend an extended meeting of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee.

On Wednesday, Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the controversial ordinance to shield convicted politicians which he had termed 'nonsense' at an impromptu press conference on September 27. A massive controversy broke out over Gandhi's outburst with the opposition accusing of insulting the prime minister and the entire nation. Gandhi later said that his intention was not to embarrass the PM and he only reflected the opinion of the people.
