Police yet to contact us, Tarun Tejpal's lawyer tells news channel

New Delhi, Nov 23: Raian Karanjawala, the lawyer of Tarun Tejpal, the accused founder of Tehelka magazine and its editor who stepped down from the post recently in the wake of an alleged sexual assault of a woman colleague, told the NDTV on Saturday that they were yet to be contacted by the police regarding the case and in case they did, they would fully cooperate and put their version before them.

A three-member team of the crime branch of the Goa Police reached the capital on Saturday to probe Tejpal and Shoma Chaudhury, the managing editor of the magazine.

Fifty-year-old Tejpal has been accused of outraging the modesty of the young journalist in the elevator of a hotel in Goa during the THiNK 2013 event organised earlier this month.

The Goa Police said Tejpal's arrest is imminent and the letter of apology that he had emailed to the journalist served as a new evidence.

Shoma Chaudhury has shared all documents sought by the copse, Tehelka tweeted

On Saturday, Tehelka tweeted that Chaudhury shared all documents sought by the Goa Police and promised to cooperate with them in the probe.

It also said that Chaudhury has maintained communication with the Goa Police through email.
