PM Modi dissolves 4 Cabinet standing committees
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the functions of the Cabinet Committee on Management of Natural Calamities will henceforth be taken over by the Committee under the Cabinet Secretary whenever the situation demands an action.

Similarly, the functions of the Cabinet Committee on Prices will be handled by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and those of the Cabinet Committee on World Trade Oragnisation Matters will be taken up by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and if necessary, by the entire Cabinet. On the Cabinet Committee on Unique Identification Authority of India, it was said that the major decisions on this have already been taken and the rest will be taken over by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
The PMO also said that the prime minister would reconstitute the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Security, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs and the Cabinet Committee on Security.
