Protests in Delhi:

Yesterday New Delhi witnessed protests by retired personnel of the armed forces. The police at first sought to evict them calling it a security threat.

However the government later directed the police to let the veterans continue with their protest.

The veterans of the armed forces have been demanding One Rank One Pension. They took to the streets as they found no concrete movement in the process.

There have been several rounds of talks on this issue, but no consensus has been reached. However today Modi said that the talks are at the last stage and OROP will become a reality very soon.
