OMG! Delhi Police's WhatsApp helpline receives 220 porn clips!
A newspaper quoted a senior police officer as saying, "In the last three months, around 220 pornographic clips have been received on the vigilance helpline number... These clips were sent from the US, Dubai, Punjab, Delhi and Haryana."
On August 6 2014, the Delhi Police had launched a helpline number 9910641064 via chat application Whatsapp, so that smartphones equipped people can report incidents of any police officer seeking a bribe or harassing them.
The purpose of the 24x7 helpline, was to make the Delhi Police force corruption free.
The WhatsApp helpline received 20,698 messages till Sep 6.
The landline number 1064 at present has four lines attended by at least 20 constables and head constables who work round the clock under the guidance of an inspector, while 9910641064 is handled under the guidance of senior vigilance officers.
