No alcohol allowed on Narendra Modi's Air India One

New Delhi, Apr 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known to conduct several meetings while he travels by air so much so that Modi's Air India One is often termed as 'flying Prime Minister's Office.'

He is known to hold several meetings on his flight during his long flying schedules. However there is one strict rule that he follows- no alcohol to be served on his flight.

No alcohol served on Air India One

According to a report in TOI, a highly placed source said that 'Liquor is simply not served on PM's flights.' According to the report, the average age of the Air India Boeing 747 is 25 years, these have 'pre in-flight entertainment' at the back of the seat.'

"So the only option for the officials travelling with the PM is either to sleep and arrive ready to work or engross themselves in files or work on their personal electronic devices," the source said.

When it comes to the menu, the Foriegn Ministry decides on what goes on the menu and Modi usually opts for a simple vegetarian dinner. However, there are no restrictions on non-vegetarian fare being served to others on the flight.
