Nirbhaya's parents unveil self-defence tool for women
New Delhi, March 9: After their daughter was gangraped and breathed her last in Dec 2012 , Nirbhaya's parents unveiled a self defence device for women here.
The device named Bhavani, is a portable, baton looking device which acts like a protective shell for women and can be carried in a bag easily.
Featuring an in-built GPRS, the device has five functions.

It contains, a siren with a strobe light, a non-lethal stun gun, a 10-feet throw distance pepper spray, a panic button which, when pressed, will send five SOS SMSs with GPS location, to five pre-fed members, an active voice call to the first number and a Swiss knife and an a two-feet collapsible baton.
Meanwhile, Nirbhaya's parents are coming to terms with the ban imposed on the BBC documentary based on the Dec 16, 2012 gangrape. The documentary was banned from being aired on Indian television.
