New Delhi: Cabinet note proposes Hyderabad as Telangana capital
The news channels quoted sources and said that the note had proposed that Hyderabad would serve as a joint capital for both Telangana and Seemandhara for a period of ten years. According to reports the note was prepared on late Wednesday night and the Cabinet was likely to take yp the issue on Thursday.
TRS leader Keshav Rao, reacting to the report said that he had no objection to the idea of a joint capital however there was no question of sharing power with Andhra. "Hyderabad will be the capital and Andhar will be given the facility to operate from Hyderabad if required for ten years. But if they think of another place like Punjab or Chandigarh, where law and order will be in the hands of the Governor, that is not possible," he said.
Other members of the TRS stressed that administratively hyderabad had to be under complete control of Telangana and that they didnt want a situation like Delhi in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile there were some opposing vioces who said that the decision must be announced after the committee, headed by Defence Minister AK Anthony visited the state first.
The Congress Working Committee on July 30 had passed a resolution requesting the Centre to take steps in accordance with the Constitution in the formation of a separate state of Telangana within a time frame.
