Narendra Modi to put on his running shoes, likely to participate in 'Run for Unity
Run for Unity is a part of a series of events to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Modi will flag off the run and is also likely to participate in the same.
Modi is expected to join the run in the heart of Delhi on Rajpath, a tree-lined avenue between India Gate and the presidential palace Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Officials say a large number of young people and schoolchildren will participate in the run to be organised across major cities, districts and towns.
Security is already in place and government offices will close by 2 pm in the area.
The central government has decided to celebrate 31 October as the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Patel, the country's first home minister. Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi has assured that there won't be any inconvinience to the general public.
