Govt officials asked to clean bathrooms
New Delhi, Sept 30: Looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi means serious business when he is directing officials to clean bathrooms on Oct 2.

In addition to asking government officials to be in office on Oct 2, Modi has now directed them to even clean their bathrooms on Gandhi Jayanti as part of the launch of the 'Swacch Bharath campaign.'

Officials are already scurrying and purchasing brooms and other necessary items needed for that cleanliness drive. Officials say that in some offices the cleanliness drive kickstarted a week back.

Modi raked up the cleanliness and sanitation issue even in US while addressing the Indo-American community at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Sept 27. In his maiden Independence Day speech, Modi said that his primary focus as a PM would be providing clean toilets and proper sanitation across the country.

Modi even said that his government would target to make all major cities in the country garbage free by 2019.
