Naga peace accord: Govt has displayed its arrogance, says Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, Aug 6: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday, Aug 6 said that the Prime Minister had not consulted chief ministers of the northeaster states before the Naga peace accord.

"We're actually shocked, that PM didn't even think of taking into confidence our chief ministers. He did not even think of taking into confidence our Manipur CM, Assam CM, Arunachal Pradesh CM who are directly affected," Sonia added.

She hit out at Modi and said that the government displayed its arrogance by doing so. "It may be historic (Naga peace accord) , but what about consulting the CMs of the states," she questioned.

"Their arrogance is now even more clear; it is not just an insult to CMs but to peoplel of the state and the federal structure of country," she said.

Meanwhile, the Congress continued its protest against the suspension of its ministers in the Parliament.
