Musician, singer Rabbi Shergill extends his support to AAP
After singer Kailash Kher extended his support to the party, musician and Sufi singer Rabbi Shergill has expressed support for the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP.
Shergill attended an election related event by the AAP in Hari nagar on Thursday, Oct 31. The event saw Kejriwal wearing a turban and holding a sword in a Sikh warrior style.
Sanjay Singh, a member of the AAP's national executive said: "We had approached Shergill and he agreed to support us as he supported the good cause that we had taken up." He however added and clarified that Shergill had not officially joined the party yet but would continue to support the party as he would be doing rallies with them.
AAP to reach out to Sikh, Punjabi community with Shergill's support
With Shergill supporting the party, the AAP could benefit on a large scale as his presence would help the party to reach out to the Sikh and the Punjabi communities in the capital. These communities can swing in votes in about 10 constituencies.
Earlier Kailash Kher had lent his support to the AAP, by composing a song for the party, which they could use in all their public meetings and rallies.
