Congress President Sonia Gandhi and BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi might be amused over Mulayam's claims regarding third front. The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, during a press conference, said, "Third Front will be formed after 2014 polls. Neither Congress nor BJP, it will be the Third Front that will get numbers in 2014 and form the next government."
The third front will decide about its PM candidate after the general election, informed Mulayam. He, however, confirmed that his party members are in touch with Left parties.

Informing about his meeting with CPM leaders, Mulayam said, "We are holding talks in this regard with Prakash Karatji and AB Bardhanji. Karat ji has invited me to attend the meeting at Talkatora in Delhi on October 30. I and some other like-minded big leaders will attend the meeting."
Meanwhile, BJP leader Balbir Punj mocked at Mulayam saying, "Mulayam Singhji is a very senior politician and if he wants to do day-dreaming, I have absolutely no issue on that. And A B Bardhan represents a party whose vote share in the Indian politics is not even 3% or 4%, which qualified them to be a national party."
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Before every election they present this idea like expired chocolates, we know what happens later."
