Delhi: Man kidnaps son to demand ransom money from wife's family

New Delhi, April 21: In a shocking incident, a man abducted his own 9-year-old son, in an attempt to bring himself out of financial crisis in New Delhi.

According to reports, Aman, the child, had gone missing from his home in Dilshad Garden on April 12.

Police on Wednesday, cracked the kidnapping case when they rescued Aman from Umri Kalan town in Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, April 17, Aman's father Ayub came to police station and said someone had made a ransom call of Rs 10 lakh to secure the release of his child.

The police traced the number to Bijnore in Uttar Pradesh and the caller was found to be Ayub's relative. Police then reached there and went to the mobile shop, where sim cards were sold.

During the probe, cops also found out that Ayub's number was also active in that area on some days.

When police confronted and interrogated Ayub, he spilled the beans and revealed that he hatched the plan to kidnap his son, so that he could get money from his wife's family to get himself out of the loans, he had taken.

To execute the abduction, he roped in his trusted relative Kajim who took the boy from Bijnore to Moradabad.
