Kerala Congress slams Rahul Gandhi for criticising PM Modi
Dissent surfaced in Kerala after the Congress's decimation in the Lok Sabha election when a senior leader, TH Mustafa, called him a "joker" and faced the consequences. The youth Congress unit has also openly criticised Rahul Gandhi's "democratisation" process in the youth bodies, even passing a resolution.

On the question of criticising Prime Minister Modi, a leader close to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy slammed Rahul Gandhi for mocking Modi's beating drums during his recent trip to Japan, according to the report. The Kerla government thanked the Modi government at the Centre after nurses from the state were brought back from Iraq safely and also rescuing Keralite tourists who got stuck in Jammu and Kashmir floods.
There is a message in the Congress that the party should not be hostile towards the Modi government unnecessarily and instead deal with it on the basis of issues, the report added.
The central leadership of the Congress is baffled by the continuous criticism of Rahul Gandhi in the state. A big reason for this criticism is Rahul's decision to pick VM Sudheeran as the president of the state Congress, observers said.
