Joint Parlimentary Committee report adopted, Opposition cries foul

New Delhi: JCP report adopted
New Delhi, Sept 27: The Joint Parlimentary Committee (JPC) report on the 2G spectrum allocation was adopted on Friday.

The report giving a clean chit to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister was adopted on Friday as it won a majority. The report was adopted with16 votes in favour of it against 11 that were opposed to it.

While many welcomed the decision, there were some like Deputy leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad, who opposed the decision and said that the decision taken was to protect Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram.
He dismissing the move he said: "They rejected our demand to call A Raja before the committee."

Even Yashwanth Sinha lashed out at the report saying that the report was based on wrong observations. "The report has been adopted without any considerations," he said.

JPC Chairman PC Chacko said that the report was adopted after the vote was 16-11 in favour of the government side, after an NCP member also gave his support.
