I eat beef, can somebody stop me, asks Minister Kiren Rijiju
New Delhi, May 27: While the beef ban may have irked many, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju hit back at BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and said: "I eat beef. Can somebody stop me?"
This comes after Naqvi has said that those 'dying to eat beef must leave to Pakistan.'
Rijiju was quoting saying: "I eat beef. I am from Arunachal Pradesh. Can somebody stop me."
Rijiju further added that states having a Hindu majority could enact the legislation relating to banning of cow slaughter but it could not be imposed in the Northeastern states where majority of the people eat beef.
He said that the cultures, traditions, habits and sentiments of all the people in the country should be respected and honoured.
