Hunt on for Manmohan Singh's house post-May 2014

New Delhi, Feb 20: The central government has reportedly checked two bungalows in the national capital on security grounds for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after a new government takes over in May this year.

The bungalows are at 5, Janpath and 3, Motilal Nehru Marg. Singh will be vacating 7 Race Course Road, the official residence of the prime minister, by June for he has already withdrawn from the race of becoming the prime minister for the third time, according to a report published in Rediff.com news.

Manmohan Singh has served as the prime minister of the UPA government for two consecutive terms, between 2004-2009 and 2009-2014.

The Rediff report also said that Manmohan Singh has asked for a month's vacation during which he would spend time with his daughter in the USA around July.

Singh's UPA government is facing an uphill task to get the Telanagana Bill passed in the Rajya Sabha at the moment. The government had passed the bill behind closed doors in the Lok sabha on Tuesday.
