Party leaders and workers have to pull up their socks as they need to revamp the whole party campaign in the capital. The Delhi BJP unit has very little time and a huge task ahead of them- to make Harshvardhan a household name.
As the party named Harshvardhan as its CM candidate for Delhi, posters, booklets, online campaign that had Vijay Goel's picture will be replaced by Harshvardhan's.
So far, Vijay Goel was the name and the face that the party was projecting. All the campaign material like posters, billboards, BJP website, online campaign, even the 'Ghar Ghar Bhajpa' campaign had Goel's face on it.
On the contrary, Harshvardhan is not visible anywhere.
The party may have to bear excess expenditure for the revamp
Now that Harshvardhan is pitted against Sheila Dikshit, the entire campaign will have to revolve around that, a party leader said. He also added that a separate team has been formed to come up with new slogans and to make sure that his face is visible across the city.
Printing new banners, posters, and arranging a new campaign altogether means extra expenses and expenditure for the party, which may prove a little costly to it.
So far the party workers were campaigning andwere asking the people to vote for BJP, but now that Harshvardhan has been named as the CM candidate, they can project his as the party's new face.
