Ghaziabad Police adamant to provide Z-category security to Kejriwal

Kejriwal to have Z- category security
New Delhi, Jan 13: After repeatedly refusing security cover, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will have 'Z' category protection from Monday, Ghaziabad Police has said.

The Ghaziabad Police has outlined the security plan, which includes 30 personnel round the clock who would provide security to Kejriwal.

"Despite of Delhi CM's refusal, we have decided to provide him with 24-hour 'Z' category security. Two head constables and eight constables will be deployed outside Kejriwal's house from Monday. Besides two Personal Security officers will also be posted as part of the Delhi CM's security detail," SSP Dharmendra Singh said.

Two escort vehicles will accompany Kejriwal when he travels

Kejriwal currently stays with his family in Girnar Apartments in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad.

Singh also said that Kejriwal would have two escort vehicles accomapanying him when he would travel. Last week Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde had said that even though Kejriwal refused security cover, it was the duty of the government to protect VVIPs.

"It doesn't matter if he rejects our request again. After the state government's directive on Saturday, we have decided to give Kejriwal security from Monday," Singh said.
