Farooq says NC will remain with Cong, Mayawati blames poor policies

New Delhi, Dec 9: New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Monday that the Congress's colossal defeat in the recent Delhi assembly polls is the outcome of inflation, corruption and other anti-people activities during the 15 years' rule.

He said though the poll defeat is a jolt to the Congress, that does not affect the National Conference from being a UPA ally.

"We have been with the UPA in bad times and will continue to support them", said Farooq Abdullah.

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati Monday said the Congress's faulty policies are to be blamed for its defeat in the assembly elections.

Congress's faulty policies responsible for the losses, said Mayawati

"Congress's faulty policies are responsible for its loss in the assembly election. AAP got all the Congress votes," Mayawati said.

Asked about her support to the United Progressive Alliance at the centre, she said her party was not a part of the government and was supporting it to keep the communal forces out. "We support them from outside, to keep the communal forces out, but our party has nothing to do with the government", added Mayawati.
