External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to visit Afghanistan today
This will be Swaraj's first visit as the External Affairs Minister. During her visit she will be meeting Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai and will discuss a number of crucial bilateral and regional issues including India's defence and security assistance to Afghan.
Since NATO forces will be pulled out from Afghanistan, the country has been pressing Indian to supply military hardware.
Swaraj stressed that there won't be any change from the Indian side towards supporting Afghanistan. "India will continue to help the country in its reconstruction" she said.She added that whoever will be the President, India will continue to support its neighbour.
Afghanistan is waitng for the result of the Presidential polls that were held in June this year.
